Floating Homes Association: Day in the Park
FHA Events Chair BettyAnn Kram has announced that this year’s Day in the Park will run from noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 3 at Waldo Point Harbor’s Van Damme Park, located between Issaquah Dock and Charles Van Damme Dock.
This year the focus will be on making DITP a community-driven, BYO picnic event, featuring artists, musicians, and speakers.
Help is needed, particularly with setup and teardown. Check out the volunteer opportunities and sign up now to get the shift you prefer.
Talented artisans and makers from the docks will be exhibiting their wares along Artists Alley at Day in the Park May 3. They include:
- Nikki Melet, Heart & Stitch (Gate 61/2). Signature hoodies and puffer jackets. Portion of proceeds goes to the Notkin Breast Cancer Recovery Program.
- Catherine Lyons-Labate and Michael Labate (A Dock). Catherine is selling her book Sausalito Once Upon a Waterfront, and Michael is selling his woodworking crafts.
- Jarl Forsman (Issaquah). Houseboat photos on coasters and tote bags with Richardson Bay reflections.
- Allie Haas, Tile Fever (Van Damme Dock). Artisan ceramic, terra cotta and stone tiles from assorted artists.
- Elaine West (Liberty Dock). Assorted art pieces.
- Annie Sutter (Issaquah). In memoriam, Annie will be represented by friends who will be selling her assorted artwork and books (see related post).
- Liz Brott (West Pier). Assorted soft pastel and pen and ink work: prints, cards and wood panels.
- Joe Tate and Donna Bragg-Tate (South Forty). Joe is selling his book, Last Voyage Of The Redlegs, about houseboats and his sailing adventures, and Donna is selling her pottery.
- Krystal Gambie, Waterfront Wonders. A range of assorted artwork and books from various houseboat artists.
- Christy Kieffer (Liberty Dock). Christy will have cards of her original Richardson Bay and Marin inspired artwork in pastels, pencil, ink, and watercolor.
Other talented neighbors will be entertaining throughout the day, including:
