SWC: BALTIMORE CANYON, DAWN FALLS, KING MOUNTAIN LOOP HIKE

Let’s try a second time and pray for no rain …. maybe more of you can join us for one of Marin’s best kept secrets. We will start at Baltimore Canyon dipping into a canopy of magnificent redwoods and fern groves. The Dawn Falls trail skirts and crosses the Larkspur Creek passing by the lovely Dawn Falls. After a short steep zigzag climb we will arrive at Southern Marin Fire Road and then loop around Kent Woodlands to King Mountain. At the Ladybug trail junction we will start our descent back into the canyon and out. This hike is so serene, secluded, quiet and powerful. As one ranger is quoted “if you listen carefully, you might still hear the drumbeats of the old “hippy” camp that was once there. Moderate 5 mi hike, poles recommended.
