We are celebrating with a parade\, live music\, food\, games\, and fireworks! When attending our events\, please remember to keep Sausalito parks and the SF Bay beautiful by placing all refuse in the correct bins. \n4th of July Schedule of Events: \n10:00am: Parade starts in Old Town \n12:00pm-4:00pm: Picnic at Dunphy Park \n6:30pm: Evening celebration at Gabrielson Park \n9:15pm-9:30pm: Fireworks show at Gabrielson Park DONATE TO THE FIREWORKS \n\nParade\nThe parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. and starts on the corner of Second and Main\, it moves along Bridgeway to Caledonia Street and ends at Dunphy Park. \nThis year’s Grand Marshal will be TBD. Feel free to nominate a Grand Marshal by emailing recreation@sausalito.gov \nThe 2025 Grand Marshal was Yoshi Tome\, a Sausalito business owner since 1986\, who is very involved in the Chamber of Commerce and supporter of Sister Cities program with Sakaide\, Japan! \nSign up to participate in the 2026 4th of July Parade!\n \nNOTE Street Closure 9:45a – 11:45a: Main St. and 2nd St up Bridgeway\, all of Caledonia St. up to Bridgeway and Napa will be closed to thru traffic. \nPicnic\nGather for an afternoon picnic at Dunphy Park. TBD will play from 12:30-4:00pm in the gazebo. We’ll host our annual egg toss and tug of war competitions. \n2026 FOOD TBD Sausalito Rotary will be selling hot dogs and hamburgers. Galilee Harbor will sell fish & chips\, fries\, corn\, and watermelon. The Rec’ers will be serving wine\, margaritas\, and beer and accepting cash only. \nSausalito Parks & Recreation will have water\, soda\, and locally designed t-shirts for sale. There is a limited supply of shirts and they will only be available at the fireworks if supplies last. \nT-Shirt Design Contest\nWe’re in search of the perfect design for this year’s return of our coveted 4th of July t-shirts. And we want it to be designed by an artist who lives\, works\, and/or loves Sausalito. To enter your design to be considered for this year’s shirt\, please read the Rules and Guidelines below. \nRules and Guidelines \n\nCapture an aspect of life in Sausalito integrated with a 4th of July theme\nShirt color will be blue\nMust clear and legible. Wording can/may be added by our team later.\nWill be printed less than 12″ x12″ on the front of a shirt. Please keep this in mind.\nDesign must be wholly original. It’s when the Marin County Elections Department starts to mail ballots to all local registered voters and opens in-person voting at its Marin County Civic Center office in San Rafael. Whichever way a voter prefers to vote\, make a plan and review the options: \n\nMail your voted ballot to the Elections Department using the postage-paid return envelope.\nPlace the envelope with your voted ballot in an official drop box.\nVote in person at the Civic Center or at any Marin County vote center.\n\nDrop boxes will be available May 5 through June 2 at 18 locations throughout the county. Find a vote center near you. Sausalito’s voting center is City Hall\, 420 Litho Street. DESCRIPTION:Easter Parade and Egg Hunt\n\n\n.            \n44th Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Parade 2026\n(THIS IS A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT) \nThe children’s activities are free\, open to the public\, and no registration is required. BYOB (bring your own basket) for the egg hunts! Adult Egg Hunt tickets will go on sale March 4th and 10am. \n\nSaturday\, April 4th\, 2026\nParade at 10:00 a.m. down Caledonia – Line-up at 9:45 a.m. at the Johnson Street Fire Station\nEgg Hunt at Dunphy Park\n10:15 a.m. – Easter Egg Hunt\n\nEgg hunts start at the same time\, but are divided into age groups (0-2\, 3-5\, 6-9\, 10+)\n\n\n10:30 a.m. Live Children’s Music with In Harmony Music\n11:00 a.m. Easter Bonnet Contest (no pre-registration required)\n\nChildren and adults (*NEW*) are encouraged to show off their DIY Easter/spring themed hat on the runway\nContestants will be divided into age groups (+ adult category) and Judged by the Sausalito Woman’s Club\n\n\n11:45 a.m. Adult Egg Hunt\n\n$25 to enter and over $5\,000 in prizes from local restaurants and businesses (over 4000 eggs! Scroll down for a peek at prizes)\nBYOB (Bring your own basket)\n\nAdult Egg Hunt Tickets will go on sale March 4th at 10am\n\nAdult Egg Hunt participants: Check in between 10:30-11:30am to pick up your wristband and mandatory bunny ears. DESCRIPTION:Public Listening Session: Turney Street Dock and Boat Launch Improvements. Join us for a community meeting and listening session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday\, March 23\, in City Hall’s Edgewater Room. \nThe City of Sausalito has received funding for initial design development and permitting from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to repair and improve the Turney Street Dock and Boat Launch Ramp so that it remains accessible and reliable for boaters\, visitors\, and emergency responders. We will extend the boat ramp and boarding dock\, add a kayak launch area\, and protect public infrastructure at Humboldt Street. DESCRIPTION:“Gravity & Levitation” – A Tree Lighting & Community Reflection on Remembrance & Caregiving \nFriday\, March 20\, 2026\, from 6 – 7:30 pm \nTiffany Park\, Downtown Sausalito \nMarch 20 is the vernal equinox and symbolizes rebirth\, renewal\, and the balance between light and darkness. In the spirit of the day\, the City of Sausalito Parks and Recreation Department is holding an event to embrace and acknowledge the full spectrum of life\, including loss\, grief and the challenges posed by long-term caregiving. \nJoin us at 6 pm in Tiffany Park for a period of silent reflection\, simple artmaking and group meditation\, near  Tim Collins’ nearby artwork “Gravity is a Law in the Material World\, Levitation is a Law in the Spiritual World“\, commissioned in the 1990s as a memorial to lives lost\, followed by a short (0.5-mile) walk to Vina Del Mar Plaza to witness the lighting of a tree\, which will remain lit until the end of April. \nSausalito First Lady and local artist Lucinda Eubanks will lead participants in making paper ornaments of remembrance for the tree\, with Roy Remer\, Executive Director of the Zen Caregiving Project (formerly the Zen Hospice project)\, and Paul Mowry\, City Chaplain\, guiding the reflection and meditation. \nAfter the event ends\, coffee\, hot cocoa and mingling will be available at Franko & Co (across the street from the park) to give attendees a chance to build community\, and watch the lighted tree and artwork come to life in the descending darkness. \nLearn more\, and RSVP (optional\, but helpful) here.
