Parking cost is per hour\, and Parking Lot #3 (searchable on Maps) usually has the most space. “Sausalito Books by the Bay” at 100 Bay Street is a central address for parking. \nFor the closest parking\, take a right at 100 Bay Street and park in spaces 1113-1159 (within “Tour Bus Parking Lot“). \nOnce parked\, walk north towards The Spinnaker restaurant. You’ll soon come across a wooden boardwalk that leads to our dock (Slip 465). Weather can change in a minute. Windbreaker\, warm base layer\, gloves\, hat\, scarf\, sunglasses\, and comfortable shoes are strongly encouraged. Passengers 17 and under must be accompanied and always supervised by an adult. All tickets must be purchased in advance\, and full contact information is required for all passengers. \nTickets are transferable up to 48 hours prior to sail. A new name and contact information associated with the ticket are required. \nTickets \nGroups of 6 or more \nGroups of 6 or more are encouraged to consider a private charter on San Francisco Bay: \nCIMBA – 32′ Grand Banks\, downtown Sausalito\, 2-10 guests \nFREDA B – 80′ Schooner\, downtown Sausalito\, 2-38 guests \nFor Your Safety \nFreda B is a United States Coast Guard (USCG) inspected vessel and complies with all the latest regulations including personal floatation devices (PFDs)\, handrails\, raft\, CPR/First Aid trained crew\, Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certified crew\, and disinfectant/sanitization standards. \nFreda B follows any and all USCG and Marin County Guidelines regarding any health crisis the county may be experiencing. \nWeather \nSailing on the San Francisco Bay is weather-dependent. We sail in most weather\, including cold\, wind\, fog\, and light showers. On occasion\, we will need to reschedule a sail due to extreme wind or rain. If this is necessary\, you will usually be notified within 24-48 hours of the scheduled sail. \nIf the Captain must cancel due to weather\, our sales team will work with you to reschedule or refund your order. The Captain and Crew monitor the most sophisticated weather channels to make every effort to bring you information in the timeliest manner. We apologize in advance if the weather complicates any special occasion plans. \nGuest Cancellation \nDue to the popularity of this sail\, we do not offer guests an option to cancel or reschedule within 7 days. SUMMARY:Dog Days of Summer Saunter
DESCRIPTION:Join Greenbelt Alliance for a dog-friendly walk in the Marin Headlands. \n \nAbout this Event \nBring along your four-legged friends for a hike in the Marin Headlands. From the Visitor Center\, we’ll head out on the Lagoon Trail to Rodeo Beach. There\, we can talk and bark a bit about the area’s amazing rock outcrops and unique beach sand\, which includes carnelians. (This is the “type locale” for the Franciscan Assemblage of rocks\, a really big deal to geologists.) \nAbsolutely no need to bring a dog to attend. Just bring your sense of adventure. \nMany years ago\, this glorious natural area was saved from a massive sprawl development through citizen action. Another grassroots effort is underway to stop a giant sprawl development in Solano County\, with help from Greenbelt Alliance. Read about it here: Solano Together \nTOTAL DISTANCE\nThis is an easy hike of about two miles round-trip. \nLEADER: Ken Lavin \nCOST: Free; Reservations required. \nWHERE TO MEET \nWe’ll assemble at the parking lot at the old Visitor Center on Bunker Road. \nNOTES \nBring liquids and snacks. Dress in layers and wear good hiking shoes. Dogs need to be on leash along the Lagoon Trail\, but can romp unleashed at Rodeo Beach. There is a restroom and water at our meeting spot. \nIf you have questions about this outing\, please email Ken Lavin at klavin@greenbelt.org. \nAbout the Outing Leader\n \nKen Lavin is the Outing Coordinator for Greenbelt Alliance and has been leading our free educational outings for over a decade. Ken worked as a national park ranger in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and as an instructor for Diablo Nature Adventures\, teaching environmental science to school groups in Mount Diablo State Park. Rowdy\, a border collie/terrier mix\, is his canine buddy. Rowdy’s motto is bark softly and carry a big stick. \n\n\nLocation: Marin Headlands Visitor Center | 948 Bunker Road | Sausalito\, United States
